About Empathy School

Whole-child education from the ground up.

Where we come from

Empathy School began over a decade ago as an answer to a simple question: what does education look like when we take the whole child seriously?

Founded by Eric, a Harvard-credentialed educator with a decade of school leadership experience, Empathy School is an internationally operating nature-based school grounded in social-emotional learning, ecological literacy, and the natural world. Every day, real children spend real hours learning outdoors, working through real friendships, and developing the emotional and intellectual skills that traditional schools too often leave behind.

The curriculum we offer to American families is not theoretical. It's what we teach. Every workbook, lesson plan, and methodology has been refined over years of daily use. When you buy a curriculum from us, you are buying something we have lived.

Our flagship product, Empathy Cards, has spread to over 200 schools worldwide and is used by educators, counselors, and families to build emotional vocabulary, navigate conflict, and deepen connection. The curriculum library available now to US homeschool families is the same body of work — extended, grade-banded, and adapted for the homeschool context.

What we believe

Whole-child first.

Education is not just about academics. We educate the intellectual, emotional, physical, and relational child as one person.

Nature is the curriculum.

Children learn best when they are outside, when their hands are in soil, when their eyes track real plants and animals. Nature is not a field trip. It is the classroom.

Pedagogy matters.

We are not a curriculum-in-a-box company. Our products carry a philosophy. Families using our materials become better educators, not just consumers of them.

Real schools, real practice.

Everything we sell has been tested in our own school. We don't ship speculation. We ship what works.

Why we're bringing this to American families now

Florida's expanded education savings accounts and the rapid growth of homeschool, hybrid, and microschool communities across the US have created a moment where families finally have the resources to choose alternative education at scale. We are bringing our full curriculum library to those families because we believe the whole-child approach we have refined for years deserves a wider audience.

We launched in 2026 with Florida as our first focus market. We expect to expand to Arizona, Iowa, Texas, and other ESA-supporting states through 2027 and beyond.
